Head of Prominent MJ Industry Group Leaves

Mike Elliott, for years a staple of cannabis business advocacy in Colorado, has left the Marijuana Industry Group (MIG), a state trade organization he helped develop into a true political force.

Elliott, the former executive director of MIG, has not yet commented on why he left the organization, according to the Denver Post.

But MIG confirmed that Elliott is no longer with the advocacy group. It did not explain the circumstances of his departure, saying it does not discuss personnel issues.

Bruce Nassau, the CEO of Tru Cannabis and incoming board chair of MIG, said in a statement to the Post that the group is “stronger than ever,” adding that it has “launched a national search for a new executive director and will have someone on board soon.”
