MedMen gives MPP $1 million for advocacy efforts

The cannabis management consultancy MedMen has contributed $1 million to the Marijuana Policy Project to support efforts to end cannabis prohibition.

The check presentation occurred at the Los Angeles company’s party in conjunction with this week Marijuana Business Conference & Expo in Las Vegas.

“Last week our industry scored a big victory,” MedMen CEO Adam Bierman said in a press release. “But the fight is not over, and it is important for us to remember how we got here. This would not have happened without the tireless work of ant-prohibition advocates, fighting to reform our broken drug laws.”

MPP intends to support a statewide initiative to legalize recreational marijuana in Michigan in 2018. Next month, MPP will hold a series of public forums across the state to hear from local activists and discuss what it will take to pass an initiative in 2018.
