Financial & Operational Data: Cannabis Product Manufacturers | Chapter 4 MJBIZDAILY.COM INFUSED PRODUCTS OVERVIEW CHART 4.01: Manufactured Cannabis Products Hierarchy Under the umbrella of cannabis products ― defined as processed forms of marijuana or any product other than raw flower ― are two broad categories of goods: infused products and concentrates. Infused products are exactly that : an existing product that’s been infused with cannabis. As such, infused products are a very broad category encompassing many different types of products, including edibles, beverages, topicals and tinctures, capsules and sublinguals. Drilling down further, each of these subcategories can have significant differentiation between products. For example, under the broad category of infused beverages are no fewer than seven products, from infused water to drops, mixes, elixirs and syrups. Because an infused product is any product with added THC, the potential for innovation and opportunity to serve extremely niche segments of the markets are plentiful. Concentrates come in two main forms: dabbable concentrates and concentrated oil for use in vape pens. Both require specialized hardware to consume but may appeal to different users or situations. Vape pens are discrete and portable, though users don’t necessarily turn to them for high doses of THC. Instead, these products may be viewed as an alternative to smokable flower for consumers who prefer not to smoke or desire that discretion or portability. Vape pens are either disposable ― a form that is rising in popularity in tourist-heavy markets such as Las Vegas ― or reusable. Dabbable concentrates, on the other hand, are a form of processed marijuana designed to deliver high levels of THC and are often consumed by experienced cannabis consumers.
