CHART 6.09: Ancillary Services Firms: Breakdown Of Primary Offerings Professional services firms continue to dominate the ancillary services landscape. This category provides services ― such as accounting, legal services and business management ― that are essential to all businesses, not just those operating in the cannabis space. Real estate services emerged as a key category within ancillary services in this year’s survey. Real estate plays a critical role in the marijuana industry as there are tight restrictions on where businesses can be located within a community, in addition to the agricultural requirements for plant-touching businesses, such as outdoor grow space, commercial indoor grow space and access to water for irrigation. Information services and media and events categories continue to serve an important function by providing training, education, business and technical information and networking opportunities to the nascent cannabis industry.
