Increased access to MMJ should translate into greater patient access and thereby greater medical marijuana sales. Patient counts have increased following some stagnation to surge past 12,000. A bill to legalize recreational marijuana in Delaware cleared its first legislative hurdle, with the House Revenue and Finance Committee voting to advance the measure for consideration by the full House. Democratic Gov John Carney, however, remains wary of legalizing recreational marijuana. Marijuana Business Opportunity Rank for 2020 B- Delaware is a very small state with a minimal patient count. The state capped Compassion Center licenses at six and has not made moves to fill the only remaining available slot. With these limitations, the market does not offer many business opportunities unless or until adult use is legalized. Those interested in tapping this market will find the most success through ancillary services―e.g., packaging companies, legal and consulting services―designed to meet the needs of the five existing licensees.
