Call it a business match made in heaven.
A well-known Colorado microbrewery is teaming up with a long-established marijuana shop with a new marketing strategy targeting both beer drinkers and cannabis users.
The Grass Station, which sells rec and medical cannabis, will give a $6 joint for just a penny to any customer who brings in a can of Oskar Blues Brewery’s newest beer, Pinner Throwback IPA. And the can doesn’t even have to be full.
The beer’s name is tied to cannabis – “pinner” is slang for an ultra-thin joint.
“The folks at Oskar Blues are famous for the care they put into their beers and ales, and it seemed like a natural progression that we celebrate their new Pinner IPA with a sweet deal on quality cannabis,” Ryan Fox, The Grass Station’s CEO and founder, said in a statement.
The limited-time deal could be the first of many such marketing schemes to come – particularly if more of Colorado’s breweries take a cue from Oskar Blues and try to capitalize on the enormous marijuana customer base.
