Several cannabis greenhouses caught fire Monday afternoon in central California, leading the company’s 300 employees to evacuate and call authorities for help.

The greenhouses are owned by Loudpack Farms, a licensed cultivation operation in the tiny hamlet of Greenfield, about 150 miles southeast of San Francisco.

No injuries were reported, according to Salinas TV station KSBW.

The cause is still under investigation, although firefighters told reporters they believe the blaze started outside the greenhouses or between them.

The buildings did not have sprinkler systems installed, which would have kept the fire from spreading as quickly as it did, one firefighter told KSBW.

The cultivation business is Greenfield’s largest employer, and a Loudpack Farms spokesperson told KSBW the company is already planning to rebuild and continue growing as before.

No layoffs are planned because of the fire, the spokesperson said.
