Want to ask the top medical marijuana officials in Colorado your most burning questions about regulations and compliance?  MMJ professionals in the Denver area will get that chance Wednesday night at a meeting hosted by the National Cannabis Industry Association.

The event – to be held in the EXDO Annex located at 3090 Downing Street – will feature a panel discussion with three leaders from the Medical Marijuana Enforcement Division (MMED): Director Laura Harris, Public Information Officer Julie Postlethwait and Agent in Charge Lewis Koski. A Q&A session will follow the panel, providing attendees with the rare opportunity to interact with top state MMJ officials.

The timing of the panel is ideal, given that the state recently lifted its moratorium on new dispensaries. Entrepreneurs looking to get involved with the industry can use this event to get an overview of the complex regulatory structure governing dispensaries and grow operations.

The meeting will benefit existing dispensaries and grow operations as well, allowing them to ask MMED officials about some of their biggest compliance headaches. Local professionals are also concerned with how to respond to the ongoing crackdown on cannabis businesses nationwide and in Colorado, where the federal government has forced dozens of dispensaries located near schools to shut down.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The panel/Q&A session runs from 7 to 8:30 and will be followed by a networking reception that lasts until 10. The event is free for medical cannabis professionals.

The National Cannabis Industry Association will also hold an educational event for medical marijuana professionals in Phoenix on Aug. 29.
