COMPANY NEWS & Wheelin' DEAL¬N' By Kate Lavin U.S. DEVELOPMENTS Great Growth Brands Buys Nevada Organic Remedies Green Growth Brands Nevada , a wholly owned subsidiary of Xanthic Biopharma, purchased Las Vegas-based Nevada Organic Remedies (NOR) for $56.75 million. NOR is a vertically integrated company with cul- tivation, production, distribution and dispensary licenses in Nevada. The company also markets products under the brand 8|fold. More Deals in Nevada C21 Investments of Vancouver, British Columbia, acquired Silver State Relief and Silver State Cultivation in Nevada. Under terms of the deal, valued at more than $50 million (CA$65 million), C21 will have the option to acquire Silver State’s cultivation facility, an existing dispensary and an as-yet-unopened dispensary location. The purchase is the second for C21 in a short period. In July, C21 acquired Swell Companies , an Oregon marijuana extraction firm. Flow Kana Raises $22 Million Marijuana producer and dis- tributor Flow Kana has closed a $22 million funding round – capital it plans to use to build out its supply chain focused on small, craft cannabis farms in Northern California. The round was led by a $15 million investment from Gotham Green Partners, a New York-based private equity firm. GrowGeneration Acquires Gardening Chain Hydroponic and garden- ing retailer GrowGeneration in Denver purchased Santa Rosa Hydroponics & Growing Supplies (SRH) in Santa Rosa, California, for $1.75 million in cash and $3.5 million in company stock. The acquisition provides GrowGeneration with more than 20,000 square feet of warehouse and retail space to serve commercial cultivators in Northern California’s emerging legal market. SRH joins 18 U.S. stores under the GrowGeneration umbrella, including five already in California. Rick and Jason Barretta, founders of SRH, will continue in their roles under new ownership. Hardcar Partners with Axiom Security firm Hardcar Distribution in Palm Springs, California, collabo- rated with Las Vegas-based Axiom Cyber Solutions . Hardcar provides transport of cash and product in the cannabis indus- try, while Axiom specializes in infrastruc- ture, database and business intelligence. The partnership between the two companies aims to protect marijuana businesses from cyberattacks and data theft using 24-hour monitoring.
