Huber USA: Supporting Cannabis Innovation with Cutting-Edge Temperature Control Solutions

This is a note from our sponsors.

When cannabis companies need high-precision temperature control equipment to produce extracts, concentrates and other in-demand derivative products, they turn to Huber USA. Based in Raleigh, North Carolina, Huber USA is a trusted partner known for its advanced technology, robust support, and commitment to sustainability.

Beginning January 1, 2025, all Huber products will have the option to operate with natural refrigerants. This transition aligns with the company’s long-standing focus on environmentally friendly solutions.

“Natural refrigerants have been part of Huber’s DNA since the 1970s,” said Matthew Queen, Vice President of Sales at Huber USA. “Many of our smaller units already use these refrigerants, and hydrocarbons and CO² are among the most popular options.”

Huber USA is the American subsidiary Peter Huber Kältemaschinenbau SE, headquartered in Offenburg, Germany, Huber is preparing ahead of the European Union’s 2027 deadline to phase out chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs). However, Huber USA isn’t waiting for regulations to act.

“We prioritize solutions that benefit the environment,” Queen explained. “That’s why we’re launching our full natural refrigerant product line two years early.”

This proactive approach helps future-proof Huber’s customers, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations while mitigating the rising costs associated with synthetic refrigerants.

“At some point, the expense of replacing restricted refrigerants will become prohibitive,” Queen said. “Natural refrigerants, on the other hand, are readily available and reliable, giving our clients peace of mind.”

Delivering Excellence to the U.S. Cannabis Market

Huber USA has invested heavily in customer support and product reliability to serve industries ranging from aerospace to food and pharmaceuticals—and the cannabis market is no exception.

“All of our units come with a four-year warranty, which is virtually unheard of in our industry,” said Rick Sanders, Huber’s Botanical Sales Manager.

In addition to its extended warranty, Huber offers 24/7 technical support, ensuring operators can connect with service experts even on nights and weekends.

“With the intelligence built into our systems, we can often diagnose issues during the first call,” Sanders noted. “This minimizes downtime and keeps our customers operational.”

Huber USA maintains a well-stocked inventory of its most popular units, ensuring fast delivery to U.S. clients. This approach eliminates the typical six- to eight-week wait times often associated with sourcing highly precise, expertly engineered thermoregulation equipment.

“Our service team embodies the same standards of excellence as our German headquarters,” Queen said. “We’re dedicated to being a seamless extension of our clients’ operations, providing the support and solutions they need to succeed.”

Celebrating 10 Years in North America

In 2024, Huber USA marks its 10th anniversary, celebrating a decade of success in North America. To honor this milestone, the company will host key partners at MJBizCon, the leading cannabis trade show, held December 3-6 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

“The cool thing about MJBizCon, it’s a really a celebration for our partners. We’ve been fortunate in the relationships we’ve been able to develop within the industry. This year, we’re excited to showcase some of those incredible collaborations,” Sanders said.

One of these partners, the Colorado-based ExtractionTek Stainless (ETS), will demonstrate its remote capabilities at MJBizCon by controlling an automated XLE located in Southern California directly from the trade show floor.

This blend of cutting-edge technology, sustainability, and reliable support underscores Huber USA’s leadership in delivering innovative temperature control solutions.
