Social media influencers will no longer be allowed to promote vaping on Instagram, a Facebook-owned social media site that already bans advertisements of vape products.
Product endorsements are common on Instagram through celebrities and others with large followings, known as “influencers,” Reuters reported.
According to Instagram’s post, “Branded content that promotes goods such as vaping, tobacco products and weapons will not be allowed.”
The company plans to start enforcing the new rules “in the coming weeks.”
