Oregon Rec Legalization a Coin Flip

Recreational marijuana could be a nail-biter in Oregon on Election Day.

A poll released this week by Elway Research found that 44% of respondents support Measure 91 – which would legalize recreational cannabis – and 46% oppose it, with 9% uncertain.

The poll involved just 403 residents, and the margin of error was 5 points, which makes the findings a statistical tie.

Another recent poll had Measure 91 passing with 52% of the vote. But that shouldn’t give supporters much comfort, as it was within the 4-point margin of error as well, and 7% of respondents said they hadn’t made up their minds yet.

If Measure 91 does pass, it would likely make Oregon one of the most business-friendly states for cannabis, much more so than Washington.
