In 2018, prices were initially bolstered by the start of recreational sales in California. Overproduction and subsequent plummeting wholesale prices led to new pricing lows after the fall harvest, led by recreational markets in Colorado, Oregon and Washington state. Several new markets have started sales since the late months of 2018, including recreational sales in Massachusetts and medical sales in Ohio and Oklahoma. Prices in late 2018 and early 2019 may have been positively impacted by these new markets.
