Although millennial and Generation X consumers exhibit similar consumption patterns, dabbable concentrates are slightly more popular among millennials than Gen X users ― who use edibles slightly more than millennials do. In general, non-inhalable forms of marijuana are most popular with the silent generation ― such as edibles, capsules, topicals and sublinguals. This age group consumes flower and pre-rolls, vape pens and concentrates at a lower rate than all other age groups. Vape pens have broad ― and growing ― appeal across all age groups, speaking to this sector’s increase in popularity in recent years. Baby boomers and the silent generation are using vape pens at a lower rate than millennials and Generation X, but this form captures roughly 20% of market share across all ages.
