Data is current as of July 15, 2019 Alaska The state’s Division of Agriculture accepted comments on proposed legislation for regulating commercial production of hemp, which would reward farmers who use certified varieties with lower THC testing fees. Alaska has proved slow to implement a law allowing commercial hemp production; it did not record any production in 2018. Separately, the Alaska Marijuana Control Board accepted public comment on proposed changes for on-site cannabis consumption spaces and the testing and tracking of marijuana. Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey signed legislation that requires medical marijuana and derivative products to be tested by an independent lab for pesticides, fungus, heavy metals and other impurities starting Nov. 1, 2020. The bill also requires the state Department of Health Services to issue lab certification rules for cannabis testing. An amendment to the bill, which had overwhelming bipartisan support, slashes in half the cost for a medical marijuana patient ID card. Industry Developments | International & United States
