California New marijuana packaging regulations will require all vaporizer cartridges to display the state’s version of the universal symbol, a move that will cause manufacturers to adjust practices and spend considerable money to comply. The symbol is a triangle bordering a marijuana leaf and an exclamation point with CA underneath. Retailers must sell noncompliant products by Dec. 31. The California Department of Public Health suggests manufacturers either use stickers to display the symbol or repackage products with compliant materials. Connecticut A board of physicians recommended five new qualifying conditions for medical marijuana use at the Department of Consumer Protection’s regular meeting, and the agency’s commissioner promptly accepted them. The new conditions include interstitial cystitis, a chronic bladder pain syndrome; intractable neuropathic pain that is unresponsive to standard medical treatments; medial arcuate ligament syndrome, which causes severe abdominal pain; Tourette syndrome; vulvodynia and vulvar burning. The conditions still must be approved by the state Legislature’s Regulations Review Committee.
