Aurora on Buying Spree Canadian medical mari- juana producer Aurora Canna- bis is buying privately owned Canadian greenhouse company Larssen for an undis- closed sum. Larssen is involved with over 15 canna- bis industry clients globally, including five Canadian licensed producers, according to a news release. Aurora plans to leverage its ownership of Larssen to pressure other cannabis producers to enter partnerships. Aurora also announced an $18 million (CA$25 million) acquisition of Quebec-based H2 Biopharma, giving the LP its second grow site in Quebec and fourth in Canada. The deals came days after Aurora commenced a hostile $425 million (CA$544 million) takeover attempt of rival producer CanniMed Therapeutics in what could be the largest takeover in the industry to date. Cronos Strikes $13.5 Million Stock Deal Cronos Group closed a stock deal that raised $13.5 million (CA$17.2 million) to fund research and develop- ment, expand Canadian cannabis production capacity and develop distribution infrastructure. Toronto-based Cronos said that 5,476,190 common shares were sold at a price of $2.45 (CA$3.15) each under the transaction. The so-called bought deal offering was underwritten by a syndicate led by Vancouver-based PI Financial Corp. Toronto LP Anchors in Colombia Canadian licensed producer com- pany PharmaCielo has been granted the first Colombian licenses to cultivate marijuana with unrestricted percent- ages of THC and CBD. PharmaCielo Colombia Holdings S.A.S. – a subsidiary of the Toronto-based parent com- pany PharmaCielo – has built a cultivation facility with 1.3 million square feet of greenhouse space since receiving a license to manufacture in 2016.
