130-acre medical cannabis business park planned in Michigan

A planned 130-acre medical cannabis business park in Michigan is being touted as the largest east of the Mississippi River.

The project, called Harvest Park, is slated to be home to a variety of companies and tenants, all devoted to the medical marijuana field in some respect, according to the Lansing State Journal.

It will be located just to the southwest of the state capital, Lansing, in Windsor Township, and is expected to generate up to 1,000 MMJ-related jobs.

Land will be available to MMJ growers, processors, transporters, testing labs and ancillary companies, and each will be need approval both locally and at the state level.

So far, two lots have already been put under contract with Harvest Park LLC, the development company behind the park.

Michigan’s legislature approved a statewide MMJ regulatory framework just last year, which is scheduled to be implemented in 2018. The state could legalize adult use next November if a planned ballot measure is successful.
