Mammoth Distribution on Wednesday announced the finalized acquisition of Papa & Barkley, one of the most established cannabis brands in California.

Financial details were not disclosed.

“Our cannabis community is maturing and evolving,” Nik Patel, CEO and cofounder of the Los Angeles-based distributor said in a news release.

“We are seeing that the people who build strong people-centric cultures, believe in quality cannabis products, and want to grow this industry for many years to come are starting to join forces.”

Mammoth said it will work as a team with Papa & Barkley to develop better products, cut CO2 emissions by streamlining deliveries and fleets and strengthen retail partnerships.

Mammoth, which produces cannabis brands Almora and Heavy Hitters, is also the exclusive distributor of 710 Labs in California.

Papa & Barkley cofounder Adam Grossman said the Pasadena-based brand plans to expand nationally.

Its wellness products, which include CBD and THC capsules, gummies, tinctures and topicals, are sold by more than 700 retailers and delivery providers in California.

Fellow Papa & Barkley co-founder Guy Rocourt is not part of the new management team and recently started fundraising for his new brand, Guy Rocourt Cannabis, he told MJBizDaily.
