Michigan governor eliminates medical marijuana licensing board

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer is abolishing the board that considers medical cannabis licenses, a decision she based on the group’s struggle to make timely decisions.

A new body – the Marijuana Regulatory Agency – will conduct the licensing for both the medical cannabis market and the state’s emerging recreational marijuana program, the Detroit Free Press reported.
