Nevada’s top cannabis companies are led by an eclectic mix that includes people with political ties, real estate developers and out-of-state companies, among others.
Those are some of the findings of a Reno Gazette Journal analysis of a list of marijuana company executives released by the state.
Other big-name cannabis executives in Nevada include:
- Lori Rogrich, an officer with Deep Roots Wellness, whose husband, Sig, was a senior adviser to presidents Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush.
- Former Nevada assemblywoman Lucy Flores, who alleged presidential candidate Joe Biden inappropriately kissed her, is listed as a board member for Greemart of Nevada.
- Fernando Leal, a real estate developer behind the Renaissance Reno Downtown Hotel and other projects, is a co-owner in Sierra Well.
- Green Thumb Industries, one of Nevada’s top cannabis firms, is based in Chicago.
