Government officials in Solano County, California, will meet next week to discuss reversing a ban on medicinal marijuana dispensaries in unincorporated areas of the county.
Located in the Northeast Bay Area, the county currently outlaws dispensaries in unincorporated areas; however, MMJ centers exist anyway in the cities of Vallejo, Fairfield, Suisun City and Vacaville. The five-person board of governors will host five public outreach meetings to discuss the possible end of the moratorium, which went into effect in 2009.
Overturning the ban would be a rare bit of good MMJ news in California, where hundreds of towns, cities and counties have implemented dispensary bans and moratoriums.
