Connecticut regulators approved nine medical marijuana dispensary licenses, doubling the current number.

The new dispensaries were selected from 73 applications as part of a competitive scoring process.

The additional licenses come at a time when the state’s MMJ program is growing steadily, from 8,228 patients in January 2016 to 30,478 as of Dec. 9.

Connecticut also has tripled the number of patient qualifying conditions from 11 at the start of the program to 31. MMJ sales began in 2014.

The newly approved dispensaries are:

  • Bhadra Seva, Newington
  • GR Vending CT, Groton
  • Willow Brook Wellness, Meriden
  • Tedra Health, Mansfield
  • C-3 Ventures, Torrington
  • Arrow Alternative Care #3, Stamford
  • Bluepoint Wellness of Westport, Westport
  • FFD Central, Windham
