Missouri will begin accepting medical cannabis cultivation, processing and dispensary applications on Aug. 3.

Regulators will make licensing decisions in December, and they anticipate medical marijuana products could be available for sale as soon as January 2020.

The state began accepting “pre-filed application fees” Jan. 5, 2019.

As of March 28, the state reported it had received 471 of those forms from the following types of businesses:

  • 256 dispensaries
  • 142 cultivators
  • 73 processors

The application fee forms indicate strong interest from potential MMJ businesses since they include a nonrefundable charge, but they aren’t license applications.

In other news, state regulators also are seeking feedback on medical marijuana rules, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
