A California company that markets and distributes marijuana and hemp is making a play for convenience stores.
Marijuana Company of America, a holding company with stakes in hemp and marijuana, is launching a line of CBD topicals, tinctures and edibles in sample sizes.
The products will be sold in one-, two- and 30-day supplies.
“The target markets are convenience stores, smoke shops, gas stations and similar types of retail businesses where CBD commerce has a greater likelihood of generating sales from the impulse buyer at the register,” the company said Monday in introducing plans for its “Benihemp” line of products.
In November, Marijuana Company of America (MCOA) announced a partnership with Convenient Hemp Mart to develop the new product line.
MCOA invested $100,000 in exchange for a 25% equity stake in Convenient Hemp Mart.
Founded in 2015, Marijuana Company of America is based in Escondido, California, and trades on over-the-counter markets under the ticker symbol MCOA.
