Two established marijuana companies in California are teaming up to tap emerging MMJ markets and further expand their brands nationally.

Under a partnership announced this week, G FarmaLabs – which makes infused products and grows its own cannabis – will take over production and oversight for all of MedMen’s management contracts in in Illinois and Nevada.

MedMen, a dispensary consulting and management firm, has 36 pending agreements with license applicants in the two states, according to Adam Bierman, the company’s president.

G FarmaLabs and MedMen said the agreement will help them establish consistency in marijuana products across multiple states. Dispensaries run by MedMen will use G FarmaLabs production techniques and edibles recipes for all their cannabis products, which will create standardization when it comes to questions of potency and flavor.

“If we can knock it out of the park, I think we’re uniquely positioned in the industry,” Bierman said.

G FarmaLabs, which is to date only operating in California, is also working on obtaining a business license in Washington State, where it hopes to expand further. MedMen also is targeting the Massachusetts and Florida markets.
