Two more unlicensed L.A. marijuana shops shuttered by officials

Two more Los Angeles marijuana shops operating without permits were forced to close this week, California state regulators announced Friday.

The actions were the latest in a lengthy string of moves made by state and local officials in the ongoing fight to clamp down on California’s extensive underground cannabis market, which members of the licensed market have long complained is severely undercutting legal sales.

The state Bureau of Cannabis Control (BCC), in conjunction with the Department of Consumer Affairs’ Division of Investigation Cannabis Enforcement Unit and the Los Angeles Police Department, served search warrants Wednesday at 110 Medical and Enrique’s Connection, which were located next to each other.

Although no arrests were made, authorities shuttered both shops and issued nine misdemeanor citations, a BCC spokesman wrote in an email to Marijuana Business Daily.
