Michigan’s governor signed a bill to ease the process for would-be business owners applying for medical marijuana and industrial hemp licenses.

According to the Michigan Advance, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer signed Senate Bill 203, effective immediately, to update the definition of applicant so that owning more than 10% of a company requires the standard vetting process while owning less than 10% would lead to a more streamlined process.

The new law aligns the bill with another law regulating medical cannabis, Public Act 582 of 2018.
