The Green Organic Dutchman, a Toronto-based marijuana cultivator, reported a net loss of 14.1 million Canadian dollars ($10.6 million) for the first quarter, almost double the same period in 2018.

Revenue for the quarter totaled CA$2.4 million. The company did not report figures for the same period in 2018.

The company said the wider loss stemmed from its preparation for commercial production and entry into Canada’s recreational market later this year.

The company trades on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol TGOD.
