It’s been a busy week on the meetings and networking front. I’m quickly learning that there’s no shortage of opportunities to meet others in this industry here in Denver, which many regard as the capital of the nation’s medical marijuana scene.

You’d certainly get that impression with the lineup of events this week.

As we mentioned in a previous post, the Medical Marijuana Industry Group (MMIG) held a meeting Tuesday night in Denver to provide its members with an update on legislative issues and give them some face time with lobbyists.

Last night, the Medical Marijuana Business Alliance hosted a well-attended (and free) gathering at a restaurant/pub in Denver. We met everyone from lawyers and insurance providers to officials from a maker of plastic marijuana containers and people just getting their feet wet in the industry.

And this afternoon, the Kush Expo kicks off its three-day run. Although the expo attracts a large number of recreational smokers, plenty of medical marijuana dispensary owners, suppliers, vendors and patients will be in attendance as well. The agenda also includes a few speeches and talks on a variety of subjects, including tracking inventory and legislation.

If you’re a dispensary owner in Denver, we’d recommend making an appearance at these meetings. They are a great way to meet potential business partners, customers and officials with nonprofit organizations that promote the industry.

If you know of – or are hosting – any medical marijuana-related events, please drop es a line. There’s a good chance we’ll attend.
